About Inner Meaning Wellbeing

Inner Meaning Wellbeing exists to make room for what sits beneath the story a person tells first, the argument, the job, the move. Underneath that lives something older: how the person learned to read themselves, and what they decided made them who they are. Events don't arrive raw, they arrive already interpreted; two people lose the same job, and one feels a door closing while the other hears confirmation of something they always suspected about themselves. The difference isn't in the event, but in the meaning attached to it, usually built early on, from experiences the person was too young to question. Meanings built early can be revisited. That's the premise of the work here.

Aline, registered counsellor

Hi, I'm Aline

I'm 30 years old, born and raised in Brazil, living in Sydney since 2023. I'm passionate about philosophy, and art is my favourite hobby.

My background started in Psychology, followed by postgraduate training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Schema Therapy, both completed in Brazil. There, I worked as a clinical psychologist in private practice, and as a social psychologist for the council, supporting the elderly community navigating family violence, neglect, and abuse.

Here in Australia, I'm a Registered Counsellor with the Australian Counselling Association (Member 87029). I work with adults, in both English and Portuguese.

I particularly enjoy using a CBT formulation early on, helping you map out how a situation, a thought, a feeling and a behaviour connects, and using Schema Therapy for understanding the patterns formed early in life that still shape how you see yourself and what you expect from others. Alongside this, I bring in other evidence-based methods such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), mindfulness, and Solution-Focused work, adapting the mix to whichever approach fits your needs and goals best.

My goal is to offer you a space where you can look again at the meanings you've been carrying, and slowly build a kinder, more settled relationship with yourself. That means finding your voice, setting boundaries, steadying your emotions, and growing a real sense of self-respect and care.

In that process, I'll walk alongside you and gently challenge you when it helps. My role isn't to hand you answers, but to help you see what's been quietly getting in the way, and recognise the patterns running through your thoughts, feelings and relationships.

A big part of how I do that is helping you understand the "why" behind what you're experiencing (in plain, relatable terms, grounded in evidence) so therapy doesn't only feel supportive, it makes sense. And because no two people are the same, I shape each session around your own needs, goals and experiences, so you leave with more clarity, a deeper understanding of yourself, and practical ways to keep moving forward.

If something in this resonated, that's often where the work quietly begins, and I'd love to help you take it further.
